Compound Microscopes

A new standard of precision optics, highly engineered mechanics and very rugged construction at a fraction of the cost
Objective turret is in reverse position to permit easier changing and positioning of specimen slides
Five-watt fluorescent illumination system provides optimum image brightness, virtually no bulb heat, and a 10, 000-hour rated bulb life

Optics: Widefield 10x eyepiece with pointer. DIN standard 4x, 10x, 40xR, and 100xR objectives are supplied for 40x, 100x, and 400x magnification. Model 4941B* also includes a 100xR oil immersion lens. All objectives are achromatic, parfocalled, parcentered, and color-coded.

Mechanics: Frame is rugged cast metal with a gray enamel finish. Four-hole objective turret is in reverse position and ball-bearing mounted for smooth, precise changes in magnification. Viewing head is inclined 45° and rotates 360° for easy sharing by more than one person. Separate low position coarse and fine focusing controls with slip clutch to prevent damage to focusing system. Large 135 mm x 135 mm stage has a low profile mechanical specimen holder with low-position coaxial x-y controls. Tension adjustment eliminates stage drift. Safety rack stop prevents damage to slides and objective lenses.

Illumination: Built-in 5-watt flourescent illumination delivers greater light and longer life than standard 20-watt tungsten bulbs. On/ off switch is base mounted. Includes a 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser with spiral focusing mount, iris diaphragm, swing-out filter holder, and blue filter.

All microscopes come with a vinyl dustcover; and a heavy-duty, three-wire grounded electrical system and plug for 120 V/ 60 Hz. Lifetime limited warranty excluding bulb, cord, and fuse.
